Antelope Island and oldness

Our family went out to Antelope Island yesterday. Mike had never been there, and I told him he couldn't call himself a Utahn until he did.

This view is from the island looking east toward the Wasatch Mountains. In the photo it looks like you could jump across the lake, but really it's wider than it looks.

We went to the visitors' center and also went to the south end of the island to the Fielding Garr ranch. T.'s favorite part was the barrel horse.

We saw 10 or 12 bison while we were there, but not close enough to get good photos of. And a deer crossed the road right in front of us -- luckily far enough in front that we weren't in danger of hitting it!

Today my daughter M. said something like, "Just because you're 40 going on 50..." Wow. 40 didn't seem that old, but if I'm really going on 50, I need to get moving on my lifetime to-do list!

What else is on your list?

It's been several years since I visited there. Fielding Garr is one of my ancestors, so it was extra interesting to me.
