I took French for a few years in high school, then took Spanish in college, but not enough to really speak either one. So when I try to remember a word in one language, often it will pop into my mind in the other language instead. Mike, on the other hand, speaks Spanish fluently and insists it's superior to all other foreign languages. Which led to this conversation the other day:
Me: (trying to remember a word in Spanish) All I can think of is the French word! Sometimes I wish I could erase all the French from my brain.
Mike: You can. It's called repentance.
