My new favorite word, if I could figure out how to pronounce it

I found this in the introduction to a book I just started:

". . . the word mamihlapinatapai, of the Yagan language of Tierra del Fuego, which means 'looking at each other with each hoping that the other will do something that you both want to have done but which neither of you wants to do themselves.' "

Some things really do go beyond culture and are just part of being human!

This reminds me of another word I heard (which I can't remember) that means when everyone in a group does something that no one wants to do all because they think someone else wants to do it.

I think we should just call it "dumb" and go with that.
